Head Coach Cynthia Ganey - Central Las Vegas and Summerlin

Coach Cynthia Ganey

Cynthia is a certified RRCA, TNT and USATF run coach and has trained over 250 people to complete a full or half marathon…with a 100% success rate!  She started 6 years ago training for her first marathon with Team In Training, and since completing her first marathon, she has gone on to complete over over 35 full and half marathons, ultra marathons and triathlons.

Because of her love of the sport, Cynthia decided she wanted people to experience that same incredible feeling (the sense of accomplishment) she gets every time she crosses the finish line of an endurance event, so she started coaching 4 years ago so she could reach out to more people.  Cynthia has been an accomplished group coach for Team In Training (the endurance training program for The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society), and she personally coaches individuals through her Jus Run coaching company.

Cynthia started with Rockin Runners in 2009 as the Coach of the Summerlin training location. This year she has stepped up to the Head Coach position at our Central Las Vegas location training on Sunday mornings, as well as continuing her coaching of the Summerlin group on Saturday mornings.

Cynthia specializes in training beginners to do a full or a half marathon, whether you run or walk or do a combination run/walk, but also works with people that want to attain a PR (personal record), as well as develops customized training programs for advanced runners.  Her motto is: “Helping ordinary people do extraordinary things!”

Cynthia tries to create an environment that is not just about running and/or walking to complete a marathon or a half marathon.  She creates an environment to make running and walking fun and encourages people to make it become part of their everyday lifestyle, making good friends along the way.  Since Cynthia started running 6 years ago, she has met hundreds of great people and has made so many lifetime friends, that she feels like she has an extended family.  As she continues her running journey, she hopes that you will come along and start your journey with the Rockin Runners!

Daniel Howell - Team Dietitian & Functional Warmup Coach

Coach Daniel Howell
Daniel Howell is a registered dietitian, licensed massage therapist, certified personal trainer and certified group fitness instructor. He owns and operates Triple Threat Wellness, based in Las Vegas. Daniel received his bachelors degree in Nutrition and Dietetics from the University of North Dakota. While at the University, he became certified as an American Council on Exercise personal trainer where he had the opportunity to gain experience in one of the finest college wellness centers in the country. A running injury brought him to Las Vegas where he was successfully treated through massage therapy. Shortly after returning to North Dakota, Daniel realized how vital massage therapy is to maintain optimal wellness. With this new understanding, he enrolled in a massage therapy program here in Las Vegas to complete his training.

Daniel brings his expertise in sports nutrition, medical nutrition therapy, and weight management to Rockin Runners. He aims to provide members with any nutritional help they may need in order to achieve their goals. With the ever changing world of human nutrition, he hopes to keep the Rockin Runners on top. At the very least, he hopes to answer the predominate question," what do I eat before a race?!"

Daniel also brings his experience in human movement as a personal trainer to help assist the Rockn Runners in a functional warmup prior to all training runs. "Understanding how to prepare the body for exercise will not only help prevent injury, but allow the body to perform at optimal levels  and maintain that performance for an extended period of time." With a broad understanding of the human anatomy combined with massage education and experience treating runners, he also brings the art of massage to Rockin Runners. By appointment, Rockin Runner members will receive discounted rates and specialized attention to their injuries and needs.
